All of our families dogs get hot and pant easy. As soon as I bring this out of the freezer, they share it believe it or not. Dont even fight over it like a toy or food!! They just lay as much of their body on it that will touch it & it totally cools them off and calms them down, and the panting STOPS!! Like magic!!! But Ive never seen it actually cool itself down. I started off the first day with laying it on the floor and only the frenchie payed it any attention. But when I put it in the freezer, its AMAZING. Our dogs are inside babies but I put it on the deck midday (full sun) while I was doing some work and the mat got hot pretty quick. Definitely not as hot as the deck , but not cool. But I put it in the back seat of the truck on a semi mild summer day, and it was so effective my dog was straight up literally shivering ???? Definitely stopped the panting and restlessness. I even folded it back and so 1/2 of him was on the warm seat! And for storage and in the freezer, it folds up really nice and fits in a narrow space. My freezer is always chock full but it still fits. Id recommend this for anyone with dogs that overheat easy!! But I only gave it 4 stars since it doesnt really self-cool. But we love it! Will buy another for my sisters bullies for Christmas!

I have a 70lb dog, who runs very warm. He used to pace around the bedroom at night, trying to find the coolest spot to lay down. Ever since I bought this mat, he stays in the same place. He can fit on the whole mat, but prefers his head on the carpet and the rest of the body on the mat (silly boy). If he lays on it for a bit and warms up the mat, I just need to flip it over. Love this thing!!! Highly recommend.

My dog LOVES this cooling mat. Hes usually panting and pacing all night. He usually gets up several times to lay in the hallway on the hardwood floor. Now he sleeps all night on the cooling mat Ive placed in his bed. He wakes up with better mobility and happy as I do! We both can finally sleep at night!

One of our dogs has hip dysplasia and valley fever. We bought one of these beds because she was laying on the hard tile floor instead of her foam bed to enjoy cool. We feared she wouldn't try it because the surface is noisier and plastic instead of fleece. NOPE, she took right to it and almost never uses other beds now. I had to write this because, since we got it about 1 week ago, we've been moving the bed between the bedroom and family room morning and night, but this morning we forgot it. I heard her moaning and saw her leave the family room and head to the bedroom. Then I heard her bark. I went in and she was sitting on the bed making it very clear what she was telling me. I brought the bed out and she gave me a kiss and laid down on the bed. Blown away. She's also more agile and active since we got it - reduced inflammation and pain? I ordered a second bed so we don't need to move it. And, I chose a bigger one so our other dog, who also has valley fever that has deteriorated 2 vertebra might enjoy it too. So worth the money!!!

My husky German shepherd mix wasnt sure about this mat at first but when he finally gave into curiosity and laid on it, he hasnt stopped. When we come home from a walk or a romp at the dog park, he goes directly to this mat. He gets hot during the night and often jumps off the bed to go lay downstairs where the cool draft is from the air conditioner but in the mornings lately, I have been finding him sleeping on this mat. Safe to say its a hit!
